New orthopedic surgeon opens practice in Palestine
Palestine, Texas - September 17, 2009. After lettering in varsity football all though college, Dr. Andre Thomas knows a lot about pain, and a lot about how his body works! "I learned that I wanted to recover from an injury as fast as possible but I had to heal correctly so I didn't cause more problems for myself down the road," he stated.
After a brief career in teaching math and science, Dr. Thomas returned to his family's legacy by entering the medical field. His father was a physician and his mother is a nurse in administration with Cook County Hospital in Chicago.After completing his residency in Orthopaedic Medicine at Howard University, Dr. Thomas took an extra year of training in Orland, Florida, to earn his Sports Medicine Fellowship. He will treat people of all ages with all varieties of illness and injury. "I will see anyone of any age suffering from arthritis to sprained ankles to broken bones," said Thomas.
